Arinaitwe Gerald, an Batwa indigenous organizer I talk to regularly who lives in southwestern Uganda, is currently having trouble providing for orphaned children he and his wife have taken in in addition to their own children after their mother passed away a bit over a month ago.
One of the children, a 12 year old girl named Immaculate, is in serious pain due to having a cyst caused by goiter. She had been recommended for surgery all the way back in October, but because $700 is nowhere near an amount her late mother or Gerald and his wife can afford, she has still not gotten the treatment she needs and they are even having difficulty getting the $85 needed for an injection that would potentially help decrease the pain and size of the cyst temporarily.
Please spread this fundraiser and donate if possible! Immaculate and her siblings, as well as the Batwa people at large need all the help they can get, and no 12 year old should have to go through all that she is currently dealing with.

It’s okay if you don’t want your orientation to be a “radical” statement. Who you are does not have to be revolutionary, even if society thinks it is. It’s fine for you to not want to have your existence be politicized. Nothing about you is inherently revolutionary if you don’t want it to be, the way you are is perfectly normal and good and healthy.
This goes for all lesbians who don’t want to be seen as “radical separatists,” who just want to live normal and peaceful lives but aren’t given the choice to have their existence not be taken as a political statement
This goes for all the trans lesbians who have to deal with transmisogyny and homophobia, who just want to settle down with a nice girl but who are constantly compared to “straight men” and villainized from all sides.
This goes for all the nb lesbians who don’t want to have to explain their identity and their existence, who are tired of being asked how they can be a lesbian and nb, who aren’t trying to make a political statement by taking up space.
You don’t have to be a political statement if you don’t want to. It’s not fair that you were born into a society that politicizes your existence, and it’s not fair for you to have to shoulder that responsibility without asking to. It’s okay for you to blend in. It is not your responsibility to singlehandedly change the world. There’s no “right” way for you to exist in this world.
Hello everyone, my name is Ewa, I’m from Poland. My mom was diagnosed with CERVICAL CANCER stage 3B G2 back in June (SQUAMUS CELL CARCINOMA G2; Carcinoma planoepitheliale G2, invasio carcinomatosa vasorum). Since then she had only FIVE RADIATIONS (20 Gy in total) and that’s all - NO PLANS FOR CHEMO OR SURGERY. She may receive a few more radiations next year only if she’s still alive til that time and there’s an extensive bleeding. Otherwise no.
Her health problems began in February, since then she had JJ tubes put in both ureters which later were replaced with nephrostomy tubes in both kidneys. She had a massive Enterococcus faecium infection treated with Vancomycin. Lately she had another massive infection when docs put a nephrostomy tube in her left kidney. It was treated with Linezolid.
SHE DOESN’T EAT ANYMORE, SHE CAN’T GET UP, SHE CAN’T TAKE A SHOWER, SHE CAN’T DO ANYTHING ANYMORE.
Her oncologist didn’t give her a referral to a hospice nor a palliative care specialist. I had to beg my mom’s GP to receive them. We were left alone. We don’t have any family, there’s only she and I. I’m disabled person with several chronic conditions. I have to have a knee surgery but I can’t go to a hospital right now, I have to be with my mom all the time and take care of her.

I’m absolutely devastated for my good friend Eve and her Mother. Women in Poland face struggles every day and the health system does not provide for people like it should. Not all people have a comfortable life with good health care systems and support with pain management. Eve has her own health struggles to contend with also.
Eve has been with the community for years now and her Failure Family has been a great source of laughs for me, and many of you I know. Never one to cause drama, a kind, intelligent and caring person, one we need more of! Eve has been through a lot over the past couple of years, help her out if you can, please.

We also need to stop saying she’s “free”. She isn’t. She still has 10yrs probation, mandatory community service hours, and requirements for maintaining a job in order to remain unincarcerated. She’s been released from a physical prison only to enter the open air prison so many people in the carceral state are confined to.
This shouldn’t be over. She should be fully pardoned. It’s unconscionable that they can choose to incarcerate her again for any minor infractions they deem in violation of her probation. This release shouldn’t be conditional, and right now it is.

Requiring transgender people to use the restroom matching their birth gender would mean requiring transgender people to out themselves as transgender every time they use the restroom, which could cause them to be violently attacked if a bigot happens to see them.
